Childcare
- Rabbits
In the Rabbit Room, we promote
independence, social skills, fine and large motor
skills and cognitive development of our 24 to
36 month old children.
We encourage independence by
having children dress themselves, make their own
choices during free play, and decide which activities
they would like to participate in during art time.
Social skills are practiced
through structured group activities and free play.
We encourage the children to use their words during
social interactions to express their wants and
needs.
Fine and large motor skills
are emphasized through using scissors, drawing,
coloring, building with blocks, and running, climbing,
swinging and riding tricycles outside.
Cognitive development is also
incorporated into our daily schedule as well.
The areas we work on include language, math, science,
and social studies. We cover these areas through
stories, songs, number and letter recognition,
puzzles, matching games, sensory activities, and
art projects. During your child’s school
year, we will be discussing animals, people, families,
feelings, national and international holidays,
and different cultures.
Teachers keep the lines of communication
open with parents by filling out daily sheets
with information that let parents get an idea
of how their child spent their day. The sheets
will let parents know how much their child ate,
how long they napped and at least one special
thing their child did or said that day. We also
hold parent-teacher conferences to communicate
on the children’s developmental progress.
We are excited for your child
to join us in the Rabbit Room! We will do everything
we can to make your child’s transition as
smooth as possible. If you have any questions
or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
This is the basic pattern
of the day in the Rabbit Room. The schedule is
adjusted based on needs of each child. We may
add and subtract activities depending on the day.
