Childcare
- Honey Bees
In the Honey Bee Room you find
qualified teachers who plan a balanced schedule
for the 3 to 4 year-old children.
Encouraging independence in
the children is an important part of our program.
The children help by cleaning up the room, setting
the table for lunch, passing the food, washing
hands, getting coats off and on when needed and
putting on shoes. It’s fun to see a child’s
face when they can accomplish at least one, if
not many, of these tasks.
Reading is also an important
part of our program. We encourage the children
to look at books independently and also provide
group time for the children to listen to the teachers
read our books. Our loft area provides the perfect
spot for our children to look at books in a quiet
environment either by themselves or with their
friend. Children may also go under the loft to
just relax on some pillows.
Art is another important part
of our program. We have free art set up - an easel
with paint, chalk and markers - where children
can freely go to create. We also have paper, markers
and crayons out on the shelf for the children
to use and create something wonderful. We plan
a daily art activity and use different things
to paint with, such as Q-Tips, sticks, feathers
and string. It’s just fun to let the children
expand their horizons by using many different
tools.
We keep the lines of communication
open with parents by filling out daily sheets
with information such as how much they ate at
mealtime, how long they took their nap and at
least one special thing their child did or said
that day. We also have teacher-parent conferences
to communicate your children’s developmental
progress.
All in all, the Honey Bee room
teachers and children just like to have fun!
This is the basic pattern
of the day in the Honey Bee Room. The schedule
is adjusted based on individual needs of each
child. We may add and subtract activities depending
on the day.
